Alloy 330 - UNS N08330 high in nickel and chromium

Blend 330( UNS N08330/ T. Nr. 1. 4886) is a good austenitic nickel- iron supports chromium alloy developed to give excellent resistance from carburizing and oxidizing atmospheres at elevated temperatures. With a nickel content of thirty four to 37 percent, the blend remains highly resists both chloride stress corrosion cracking and embrittlement from the precipitation of sigma phase. The alloy is employed extensively in elevated temperatures wherever resistance to the combined linked with thermal cycling and carburization is necessary.


Alloy 330 provides your high level of corrosion amount of resistance, particularly to oxidation, carburization, and nitridation. In aqueous environments the chromium content of 330 supplies resistance to oxidizing conditions, although the nickel content enhances resistance from reducing conditions. The alloy's substantial nickel content also makes that highly resistant to chloride anxiety corrosion cracking and sigma period embrittlement.


Alloy 330 has very good oxidation resistance and resists size formation about about 2000° F( 1095° C). Any scale which is shaped is tightly adherent, particularly beneath cyclic conditions of heating and cooling.


The alloy's 35 percent nickel content and silicon addition contribute greatly to its exceptional resistance to carburization. In changing carburizing and oxidizing atmospheres, Blend 330 exhibits excellent resistance to the 'green rot' phenomenon.
