The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance to most aggressive media in both oxidized and reduced states. Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is suitable for use in various chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The high molybdenum and chromium contents make the alloy resistant to attack by chloride ions, and the tungsten further enhances its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C-276 is one of the only materials resistant to corrosion by wet chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions. The alloy has remarkable corrosion resistance to high concentration chloride solutions such as ferric chloride and copper chloride.

Typical application of Hastelloy C276


Superalloys are widely used in the manufacture of high-temperature components of gas turbines in aviation, marine and industrial fields, such as turbine blades, guide vanes, turbine disks, high-pressure compressor disks, combustion chambers and energy conversion. Spacecraft, rocket engines, nuclear reactors, petrochemical equipment, coal conversion equipment, etc. Alloys are generally produced by AOD/VOD/VIM, and if there are special applications, there will be ESR)/VAR later.

Hastelloy C276 rods usually provide a bright surface in the solution annealed condition.
